Anonymous Takes Down San Antonio's NISD

Anonymous, a loosely organised hacktivist group, has been in the news a lot lately for many reasons: finding the cyber bully of a girl who committed suicide, tearing down government websites, and, most recently, for their taking-down of San Antonio's Northside Independent School District's website over the Radio-frequency identification (RFID) chip tracking (embedded in student ID cards) now deemed mandatory in the district's schools. Hacktivist Group Anonymous Raises Security, Privacy Concerns

In honour of Guy Fawkes Day, Hacktivist group Anonymous brought down a number of services over the weekend. Among the affected sites, NBC.com and its sister sites and ZPanel, with other sites recently compromised also being attributed to the hacktivist groups. Anonymous defaced the NBC website with the image below. The question comes forth: if the Internet is such a vulnerable place, is it wise to teach and house our information there?
